Avery Clyde was born in Sterling, VA and is the daughter of Dr. Fay R. Avery and Mrs. Carol K. Avery. She has one older brother Christopher Avery. In addition to acting at a young age Avery also excelled at the sport of Vaulting, gymnastics on horseback, traveling around the country and inevitably becoming the co-coach of the local team by Virginia Tech where she went to school. Vaulting was complete but acting continued on the east coast after college. Quickly she was seen as a recurring role on Dawson's Creek, Showtime's Going to California, ER, S.W.A.T. and has fond memories on corky shows with Nickelodeon, an after school special and Sheena the Warrior Princess, just to name a few. While staying at NYU she worked the other side of the desk at Liz Lewis Casting partners and legit agency Sheplin artists. She left the east coast with an Irene Ryan nomination and Lillie Stoates nomination for Best Actress.
Once on the West Coast she signed with Current Entertainment and booked roles on Joan of Arcadia, NCIS and Medium. Back in NY a highlight of Avery's career was working with Robert Altman in a small role on Tanner on Tanner. Avery has worked on multiple pilots, episodics and independent features. Her work has been seen with LionsGate at Cannes twice and won Grand Jury at Rome International and Estes Park. Always involved in the theatre: a theatre highlight would be Lydia Diamond's "Stick Fly" in 2009. "Stick Fly" and Avery's participation in it went on to win an NAACP award, Backstage Garland Award, Ovation Award, Los Angeles Drama Critics Circle Award and an LA Weekly Nomination. Avery is a member of the A2 Company at Antaeus, LA's classical theatre company and The Road Theatre company, which concentrates on new works. You might have seen Ms. Clyde most recently on the ABC show The Forgotten.
